About the Rudene Mercer Haynes Clinical Trials Office Summer Internship

The Rudene Mercer Haynes Clinical Trials Office Summer Internship (CTOSI) supports rising third-years, fourth-years, or prospective 2022 baccalaureate graduates with an interest in learning about career pathways in clinical research and the clinical research industry. Qualified applicants must demonstrate a record of academic excellence, be intellectually curious and team oriented. Interns will also learn about the program's namesake, Mrs. Rudene Mercer Haynes; a tireless Massey advocate committed to the service of others.

Internship details

The CTOSI welcomes interns to Richmond, VA for six weeks to develop a foundational appreciation for the role of academic medicine in cancer research and the impact of research on cancer disparities throughout Virginia and the nation. Features of the internship include:

Stipend award

Interns receive a stipend of $2,820 based on 30 hours of internship commitments per week. The stipend allows interns to defray the cost of housing and meals. Room and board will not be provided.

Application process and eligibility

The CTOSI application is available via ARTES. All tabs within the ARTES online application must be completed, except for the research experience, mentor, and teaching statement tabs. GRE and MCAT scores are optional and do not need to be reported, however, the following are required:
