Leading Virginia in community-responsive research
The Catchment Area Data Access & Alignment (CADA) Core provides cancer-relevant and catchment-focused data to support Massey members’ cancer research, and promote collaboration, innovation, and excellence in catchment-focused cancer research, and engagement with internal MCC members and external MCC stakeholders. CADA leverages external, publicly available datasets such as sociodemographic, and cancer data from local, state, and national sources to promote a better understanding of the MCC’s catchment area. CADA also partners with other cores such as clinical informatics and biostatistics to provide data augmentation, and extend quantitative data services with a high degree of excellence — making it an easy, collaborative, and enjoyable experience for clients to elevate research quality.
From concept to execution to dissemination, CADA supports members across all stages and can serve as a bridge between biostatistics, epidemiology, and clinical bioinformatics.
Specific aims
- Provide cancer-relevant and catchment-focused data to Massey members;
- Inform and serve as a conduit for researchers from Massey and the multiple academic, community, civic, and government institutions across Virginia to promote long-term collaboration; and
- Facilitate joint research projects and grant proposals by capitalizing on the complementary strengths of faculty from multiple disciplines.
