Office of Health Equity and Disparities Research

Addressing health disparities is our priority

VCU Massey Cancer Center is committed to cancer disparities research and minority health. Cancer disparities research is research focused on understanding and/or reducing differences in cancer outcomes. Massey has launched a center-wide initiative, Cancer Disparities and Minority Health Research Initiative, to facilitate transdisciplinary research collaborations, with the ultimate goal of improving cancer outcomes for individuals in our community. Massey’s Office of Health Equity and Disparities Research was developed to lead this initiative. We aim to make a coordinated effort that builds upon the ongoing, outstanding research that is focused on disparities and/or minority health and to position Massey as a national leader in this area. We will promote activities based on National Cancer Institute priorities and the needs of our community.

The mission of the Office of Health Equity and Disparities Research at VCU Massey Cancer Center is to address cancer disparities through research, outreach, education and training.
