Main Street Homes, Richmond’s largest locally owned new home builder, presented $30,000 to VCU Massey Cancer Center.  The check represents proceeds from the sale of a custom home built as part of a luxury home show benefiting Massey in September 2013.    This was Massey’s first opportunity to partner with Main Street Homes.

"Every family is affected by cancer,” says Vernon McClure, president of Main Street Homes.  “My own experience was losing my mom when she was in her mid-fifties. She is not here to celebrate her kids' successes or to spend time with her grandchildren. They don't have strong memories of her and never got learn from her talents as an artist and great cook. To be a part of defeating cancer is an honor and we thank VCU Massey Cancer Center for their efforts."

“Main Street Homes’ decision to donate the proceeds from the beautiful home they built was such an exciting testament to their commitment to Massey’s mission,” says David Mainella, executive director for development and external relations at Massey.  “The innovative research being conducted at Massey simply cannot progress without investment from the community.  We are honored to call Main Street Homes a partner in our mission.”
