VCU Massey Cancer Center researchers Steven Grant, M.D., and Paul B. Fisher, M.Ph., Ph.D., were recently recognized with an appointment by the most highly cited cancer journal in the world.

Grant and Fisher were appointed to serve as members of the editorial board for Cancer Research, an American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) publication and the top scientific journal for articles of the broadest significance in the cancer research field.

As editorial board members, Grant and Fisher will advise the editor-in-chief on the direction of the journal, as well as review manuscripts for scientific content, clarity of presentation and acceptability for publication.

Their appointments continue until December 31, 2015.

Grant is the Shirley Carter Olsson and Sture Gordon Olsson Chair in Oncology Research, associate director for translational research, co-leader and member of the Developmental Therapeutics program and member of the Cancer Cell Signaling program at Massey. Fisher is the Thelma Newmeyer Corman Chair in Cancer Research and co-leader of the Cancer Molecular Genetics research program at VCU Massey Cancer Center, professor and chair of the Department of Human and Molecular Genetics at the VCU School of Medicine and director of the VCU Institute of Molecular Medicine.
