Dr. Emily Rivet is one of a few colorectal surgeons nationwide board certified in palliative care. Her clinical interests include minimally invasive procedures for colon and rectal disease; palliative medicine; treatment of benign anal and rectal conditions; management and surveillance of pre-malignant anal conditions; surgical management of inflammatory bowel and diverticular diseases; and colonoscopy.
Dr. Rivet has presented at the 6th World Congress of the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, has been published in Colorectal Disease and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and has authored numerous book chapters. She obtained her medical doctorate from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and completed her residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University. Additionally, Dr. Rivet completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University and a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at VCU Health.
