VCU Massey Cancer Center will welcome Samantha Harris as keynote speaker at the 24th Annual Women & Wellness Breakfast and Luncheon on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at The Jefferson Hotel.

In 2014, when Harris received a stage II invasive breast cancer diagnosis at age 40, she was inspired to begin a quest for answers about how we can all improve our overall health, prevent chronic diseases like cancer, diabetes, heart disease and autoimmune disease, and understand their underlying causes. The resulting book, “Your Healthiest Healthy: 8 Easy Ways to Take Control, Help Prevent and Fight Cancer, and Live a Longer, Cleaner, Happier Life,” translates comprehensive, research-backed knowledge into an easy-to-follow action plan for maximizing health, energy and happiness for life. As a highly motivational speaker, Harris will share her story with Women & Wellness attendees, chronicling her personal journey from cancer diagnosis to optimal health with genuine warmth and unflappable positivity.

With an uplifting, vibrant personality, Harris consistently wins hearts, minds and rave reviews. She is passionate about guiding women toward becoming the healthiest version of themselves, overcoming adversity and finding balance in their professional lives. Facing challenges with humor, strength, perseverance and passion, she empowers audiences to take control of their health and lives.

“Samantha Harris is truly inspiring, has contagious enthusiasm and exemplifies the spirit of survivorship. Her story of strength and perseverance is powerful, and we are so excited to host her at this signature event benefiting Massey Cancer Center,” says Mary Malone, chair of the Women & Wellness fundraising committee and member of the Massey Cancer Center Advisory Board.

The Women & Wellness Breakfast and Luncheon has been the signature event of the Women & Wellness Forum Series for 24 years, raising awareness and funds for lifesaving women’s cancer research conducted at VCU Massey Cancer Center. Guests will have the opportunity to hear Harris’ story at either a breakfast or luncheon Feb. 5. Harris will sign books and autographs for a limited time immediately after each event.

Tickets will be available online at 9 a.m. Jan. 3. Tables and seats can be reserved via sponsorship now. For more information, contact Lisa Randolph, assistant director of development events, at (804) 827-2195 or lrandolph3@vcu.edu.
