More than 50 Massey doctors named ‘Virginia’s Top Doctors’ by Virginia Business
Jan 10, 2025
Choosing who you trust with your health is an important decision, and more than 50 team members at VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center have recently been recognized for their high-quality work in 21 specialties.
Virginia Business released its 2025 edition of ‘Virginia’s Top Doctors,’ a list that includes a total of 1,423 providers who were nominated by their peers last year. This is the second year Virginia Business has compiled a list of providers from across the commonwealth, highlighting expertise in nearly 90 specialties. Two doctors — Kathryn Holloway, M.D., director of VCU Health’s Deep Brain Stimulation Program and neurosurgeon at VCU Massey, and Keyur Shah, M.D., chief of heart failure at VCU Health Pauley Heart Center — were featured on the magazine’s cover for this year’s list.
With several major medical and health science schools in the commonwealth, there is steep competition to be recognized statewide. VCU’s premier health science schools are located on the same campus as VCU Medical Center, the only academic medical center in the region, so doctors in every stage of their careers are exposed to the latest innovations in patient care.
This year, Virginia Business added 27 new specialties to the list this year, including 18 new categories for pediatrics, such as pediatric hematology oncology.
