About the Statewide Collaboration Award
This award is designed to promote statewide collaborations between VCU/Massey and other Virginia-based, higher education institutions (eligible institutions may include but are not limited to: University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Virginia State University, Hampton University, and Norfolk State University). If there are other promising regional inter-institutional projects, please submit a letter of intent and the Massey Scientific Steering Committee will determine if the project aligns with the center’s strategic research priorities.

Award details
- One Statewide Collaboration award will be funded annually
- The project period for these awards may not exceed two years
- The combined budget (direct costs) may not exceed $150,000 (Massey will provide up to $75,000 to support related costs, and the partner institution will provide a dollar for dollar match for their institution-related costs)
- A Massey investigator may only hold one active pilot research award at a time
Letter of intent (LOI) requirements
- Applications should have MPIs; both MPIs should be comparable and contribute equally to the overall project
- Budgets from each institution must be comparable

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and should be submitted via the submittable portal.
