Palliative Care Fellowship program

VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center offers a one-year fellowship training program in hospice and palliative care medicine with the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Palliative Care in the Department of Internal Medicine at the VCU School of Medicine. The program is led by Danielle M. Noreika, MD, FACP, FAAHPM.

The fellows learn palliative care techniques through direct patient care on the Thomas Palliative Care Unit, at the Richmond VA Medical Center, through the palliative care consultation service and in the supportive care clinic. The fellowship provides training in long-term care and geriatrics and focuses on ethics and goals of care. Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellows also have the opportunity to rotate through palliative care embedded in our oncology service, telehealth clinics, advance care planning, hospice care, and pediatric palliative care services, and may engage in and develop quality improvement, research, and pilot projects in the palliative care program.

For more information about the fellowship, please contact our Fellowship Coordinator at (804) 828-9726 or by email at IMfellowships@vcuhealth.org. Please apply through the Division of Hematology, Oncology & Palliative Care.
