VCU Massey Cancer Center collaborated with Capital Caring Hospice to launch the Virginia Initiative for Palliative Care (VIPC) to enable all Virginia health care professionals to receive free, hands-on clinical palliative care training. The program provides highly individualized observation opportunities to doctors, nurses, chaplains, social workers and other professionals who seek tangible ways to improve supportive care.
VIPC participants are exposed to the workings of palliative care programs with the goals of learning how to improve their clinical practice and when to call for help.
For more information about the VIPC, VIPC Brochure 2019. To participate in VIPC training, VIPC Application 2019. For assistance, please contact Teri Dulong-Rae, palliative care program manager, at (804) 628-0617.
