Important event update

A message from Massey director, Robert A. Winn, M.D.

At VCU Massey Cancer Center, protecting individuals and families impacted by cancer and maintaining the health of our entire community is our top priority. As Virginia and the nation continue to experience a surge in the delta variant and COVID-19 cases, and out of an abundance of caution, VCU and Massey have made the decision to cancel the in-person portion of the Massey Alliance’s 2021 Massey on the River event at Historic Tredegar in downtown Richmond on Friday, September 10, 2021.

At Massey, we know a thing or two about resilience. Despite our disappointment in not being together in person, Massey on the River will go on with opportunities to participate virtually and to support the Alliance by raising money for cancer research through an online auction and Fund a Cure match challenge. It will all be highlighted in a video program broadcast live on Facebook on Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. Please join us to keep the true mission of Massey going!

We will continue to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and do everything in our power to keep sight of what really matters: the health and well-being of everyone in our community.

Thank you for your understanding and for standing with us to advance the Massey mission and support the Massey Alliance as we continue to work towards a future without cancer.

Together. One team. One fight.
