Research description
I have a great deal of experience with clinical research across pediatric and adult chronic illness populations, including cancer and blood disorders. My research focuses on both descriptive/observational research, in addition to, clinical intervention research. My current research themes focus on treatment adherence and self-management, quality of life, psychological factors impacting health outcomes, psychosocial clinical care delivery, implementation of tailored and personalized intervention approaches, and patient-reported outcomes in chronic illness populations, including cancer and blood diseases. My current work is focused on psychosocial oncology and blood diseases with a primary focus on patient-reported outcomes, personalized health promotion and behavioral interventions, mHealth and telehealth interventions, behavioral science, and health outcomes research. I am particularly interested in psychosocial oncology, development of innovative eHealth and mHealth interventions that are tailored to each patient, and health outcomes research across different cancer and blood disease populations and treatment phases. Another special interest of mine is the integration of research and clinical practice, measurement and research design, advanced statistical modeling, comparative effectiveness designs, and developing innovative personalized health promotion and behavioral interventions to improve clinical outcomes.
